Weekend Fun

We are back from Kansas City and we had a very fun trip. Although they did not win any games we had a great time hanging out with many couples from the team.

It is about a 7 hour drive down to Kansas City from our house. Gregg's parents are always so great to watch the dogs when we are gone! It makes it easy to leave, knowing that we don't have to worry about them. Most of the way down, Gregg and I spent talking and catching up. Seems that we have both been very busy lately and it was nice to spend some time together. I was on call for work as well and ended up having to work alittle too. Thank goodness for wireless cards!!

The mornings started off cool but it got to 90+ degrees down there. Their first game was Saturday morning at 9 am. They lost 19-11. They did not seem awake until about the 4th inning! Oh well. We had a break and didn't play again until 2pm that afternoon, so we spent time watching other games and hanging out. There were 5 other teams down from Minnesota. It was fun to see and talk with them as well.

The 2pm game started and we were excited about the possibility of winning. Unfortunately we ended up playing another team from Minnesota. We obviously lost, but had a great time.

The guys were upset at first, but realized there was nothing they could do. So we all got cleaned up and headed out. Out on the town.

We first ended up in a really bad neighborhood looking for this bar Gregg had found on the internet. We turned around after we saw the SWAT team had someone on the ground, handcuffed, and guns drawn on the suspect! It was just like out of the movies!!

Finally we found a bar that had some music, a dance floor, and pool tables. We ended up staying until bar close. It was somewhat of a country bar and had some line dancing songs. Not really my choice but it was fun to see.

The ride home on Sunday was long and I was anxious to get home. The first half of our concrete driveway was poured and I was excited to see how it looked! (more on that later!)

We had a good weekend together!!
