The last one

I have currently been working on the charting system for the hospital that I work for. In February we brought up the Emergency Department (ED) charting system (along with inpatient stuff). Up until recently I had only been working on the ED, but have recently started to help with the many, many needs of the pharmacy. In February when we had our go-live. We must have worked about 60-80 hours per week. The deal was, 24hour support for the first 14 days.

We worked round the clock helping the users adjust and adapt to the system. Some adjusted well, other not so much.

Since then we have had another go-live in May to bring up the inpatient nursing charting. We had to support that, 24 hours a day for 14 days.

Starting on August 14th, we will have our last go-live. The inpatient physician charting will come live along with the OR piece.

ANOTHER 24 hours a day for 14 days! UGH! While I am not happy to have to work so many hours (and really bad hours!) I am ecstatic to know that this is our last go-live.

The hospital will be completely turned over to an Electronic Medical Record!!

ONE MORE GO-LIVE!!!

and yes, I will still have a job after this!!
